Paper applicants must link their application to a secure account. To track your passport at a Visa Application Centre in India, use VFS Global’s tracking page with the tracking ID on your receipt and your date of birth; it shows location, not the processing stage. IRCC’s official “application status tracker” does not cover visitor visas.

Can you check Canada visa status by passport number?
IRCC’s official status page does not list a passport-number lookup for visitor visas. The official route is your IRCC account. VFS tracking uses the tracking ID from your receipt and your date of birth, not just a passport number. Be careful with websites that promise “status by passport number”; they are not IRCC tools.
