Five Star Company Canada Jobs: Hiring Facts and Scam Warning

This independent site does not recruit for any “Five Star” company and has no connection with one. Here are the facts about how Canadian employers hire foreign workers, so you can judge any offer yourself.

Important: This website is not a recruiter. We cannot give you a job, an interview, an LMIA or a visa, and we never ask for payment. Anyone who asks you to pay for a Canadian job offer is not following Canadian rules.

No connection with any “Five Star” company

This website, Sardar Jagmohan Singh — Canada Visa & Career Information, is an independent information site. We do not represent, recruit for or take applications for any company called “Five Star”. If someone uses our name together with a Five Star job offer, it is not us.

How Canadian employers hire from abroad

  1. The employer advertises the job, usually on Job Bank.
  2. If needed, the employer applies for and pays for an LMIA.
  3. The employer sends you a written offer with its legal name, the job, wage and LMIA number.
  4. You apply for a work permit with IRCC and pay only the government fees.

If you are hired from outside Canada for an LMIA job, the employer applies for and pays for the Labour Market Impact Assessment. Since September 26, 2022, employers are not allowed to charge or recover recruitment fees from foreign workers, directly or through a recruiter. You pay only the government fees, directly to IRCC on its official website: CAD 155 for a work permit and, if required, CAD 85 for biometrics.

Warning signs

  • Contact only through WhatsApp, Facebook or Telegram.
  • An offer letter from a free email address such as Gmail or Yahoo.
  • A request to pay for an LMIA, “visa processing”, a “job reservation”, training or a medical booking.
  • A job offer without any interview.
  • Pressure to pay quickly because “seats are limited”.

If this happens, stop, do not send money or documents, and report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. In Pakistan you can also report to the FIA Cybercrime Wing, and in India at cybercrime.gov.in.
