Canada Biometrics in Pakistan 2027
Fingerprints and a photo are required for most Canada visa applications from Pakistan. Here is the fee in rupees, where to go, how long you have and what to bring to VFS.
Who needs to give biometrics in Pakistan?
Pakistani citizens generally need to give biometrics when applying for a visitor visa, study permit, work permit or permanent residence. Biometrics are valid for 10 years, so if you gave them recently for another application, you may not need to give them again.
Under 14
Children under 14 are exempt for visitor, study and work applications.
Over 79
Applicants over 79 are exempt for temporary residence applications. PR applicants are not exempt because of age.
Already given
If your previous biometrics are still valid, IRCC will tell you that you do not need to give them again.

Pay the biometrics fee to IRCC together with your application fee. PKR amounts use a mid-market rate of about 1 CAD = PKR 198 (late October 2026), rounded. IRCC charges in Canadian dollars, so the rupee amount on your card statement depends on your bank's rate on the day you pay, and banks often add a margin of several percent. How to give Canada biometrics in Pakistan
- Apply and paySubmit your application online and pay the CAD 85 biometrics fee.
- Receive your Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL)It appears in your IRCC account, usually within a few days to a couple of weeks.
- Book an appointment with VFS GlobalChoose the Canada visa application centre in Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi on the VFS Pakistan website.
- Attend within 30 daysYour letter gives you 30 days. If you cannot make it, ask IRCC for more time through the web form before the deadline.
- Give fingerprints and photoThe visit usually takes about 15 minutes once you are called.
- Wait for a decisionIRCC continues processing. Track it in your account; see our tracking and refusal guides if needed.
